NORTH Tawton pre-school and Busy Bees held a coffee morning which raised almost £500 to support the group and buy new equipment. The morning boasted many attractions, including face painting, play your cards right, a cake stand, name the doll and treasure chest password. The craft stall was popular, where youngsters could decorate flower pots and plant them with flowers. The pots were donated by Bow Garden and compost by Blueline Coaches. There were several draws, including tickets to local attractions, a cheese and wine hamper and a raffle with prizes donated by local firms. The committee thanked everyone who donated products, services, time and equipment to make the event a success. The pre-school is a community-based charity offering education and care for children aged two-and-a-half to five years. It is based at the primary school, has a qualified staff and offers a lunch club facility. Further information from Bridget Kamel on 01837 880165.
