A COFFEE morning was held in Jacobstowe Church last Friday, to support 15-year-old Oliver Hancox's charity sailing challenge.
Oliver is trying to raise £10,000 for Cancer Research, in memory of his father, Neil. He will sail across the English Channel, weather permitting, at the start of June.
The coffee morning was a fantastic community event, with people supporting aged from 6 to 60 and beyond. Buttonholes were sold by Sam Collins, a 'guess the weight' of a cake made by Fred King was on offer and all the usual stalls, plus coffee and cakes.
The event raised £623, with all of the money going to Oliver's target for Cancer Research. Organisers expressed thanks to all who made the morning such a success.
