AN appeal has been made by the chairman of the Okehampton College Parents Teachers and Friends' Association for volunteers to help with the Edwardian Evening.

The PTFA is raising funds to help the college and students by holding an evening of music, mince-pies and much more in the Charter Hall, Okehampton on December 4 from 6pm.

Debra Preen, the chairman of the association, said: 'This is a major fundraiser for the PTFA with all our profits going direct to the school, this in turn benefits the students.

'Please support us where you can and let's make this year our best yet. I can't thank you all personally, however, without your help we would be unable to continue.'

Helpers are needed to man the stalls — even for an hour or two.

Good quality bric-a-brac is wanted, along with items for the chocolate and gift tombolas, cakes, bottles and other foodstuffs for the hampers.

Non perishable items can be taken anytime to the reception at the college while perishable items can be delivered to the college in the morning or early afternoon on December 4 or to the Charter Hall after 2pm.

Please contact Carol Chapman or Barbara Stevens on 01837 650910 at the college if you would like to be a helper.
