PUPILS from Okehampton Primary School learned about Africa during a fun African drumming workshop at the school last Monday.

The lessons were taken by Dennis Kigongo of Abantu Arts. Dennis spoke to the children about Africa before giving a vibrant drumming display.

This was followed by the opportunity for pupils to play the drums, learning how to produce different sounds and hold a rhythm.

The lesson was part of a week-long programme to teach pupils about other cultures, which also included a Tai Chi workshop on Tuesday.
