THE hundredth meeting of the monthly Devon Heartlands Community Forum will be held today (Thursday) at the Ockment Centre.
The forum is independently chaired, free and open to all and welcomes members of the community, local organisations, council officers, councillors and the agencies.
It provides opportunities for open and free discussions on topics and issues raised by the community. It encourages more active citizens to participate in consultations and to help the shaping of their community.
The guest speaker for the centenary meeting is John Smith, Devon County Council's head of services for the community. Mr Smith was very supportive of the Okehampton Area Market and Coastal Town Initiative Partnership, from which the community forum evolved.
Cllr Christine Marsh, the Mayor of West Devon and the first chair of the community forum, will join in the celebrations.
Everyone is welcome to the meeting which runs from 2pm to 4pm.
