VIBRANT artwork done by members of Puzzle Tree is to become part of an exciting public display in Okehampton town centre.
Puzzle Tree supports people in the area with learning disabilities, and its members have been embarking on a painting project with artist Anna Georghiou. The artwork has been inspired by the Museum of Dartmoor Life, Simmons Park, and the imagination of the artists.
A series of work taking inspiration from Simmons Park will go on display in the window of the former Honey Bea shop in Red Lion Yard as a 'pop-up' art display. It will be the second display of its kind, following a display of several large and intricate oil paintings by Anna Georghiou herself in the shop.
A series of Anna's large oil paintings is to go in display in St James' Chapel during the Christmas period. Anna said she hoped the paintings would engage viewers in thoughtful interpretation and contemplation while visiting the church, and contribute to the atmosphere of carol singing and celebration.
Anna, who is co-founder of the Creative Touchstones art and music in the community initiative, hopes to organise further displays by local artists and craftspeople in temporary spaces in the yard.
