DAVID Dimbleby may not have chaired the event, but Okehampton Beekeepers held a 'Question Time' of their own at Whiddon Down Village Hall on February 13.

The panel of four experts were retired bee inspector Glyn Berrington, queen breeder, member of DARG and previous branch chair Ray King, Malcolm Craig and branch chair Will Pyne.

Questions were posed on a variety of beekeeping issues, from alternative treatments for Varroa to methods of queen introduction. The meeting ended just after 9pm, and was followed by tea and biscuits and informal discussions among members.

The next and final meeting of the winter programme will be held on Thursday, March 13 when the topic for discussion will be submitting honey show entries.

The talk will be given by the branch's show secretary Malcolm Craig, assisted by other members of the Okehampton branch committee.
