Question was misheard

FURTHER to the report in the Times last week on the core strategy public meeting, I thought I should clarify one point in the article which was misleading.

I now understand that, unfortunately, I misheard the question posed on whether Cllr Marsh had said she 'could not attend' the meeting. I understood the question to say 'could attend', to which I answered 'no'.

I would reiterate that I was told at the beginning of April by Councillor Marsh that she had another meeting to attend on April 19 and, consequently, a substitute was found.

I hope this clarifies any confusion.
