Oke Argyle seconds 3
Newtown 4
THE Reserves got back into action at Simmons Park, where the visitors were Exeter side Newtown. Darren Prouse gave Okehampton the lead early on but Newtown hit back with three quick goals leaving Argyle chasing the game.
Five minutes before the interval, John Coakley finished off a good move to bring Okehampton back into the match.
The second half was one-way traffic as Argyle forced their visitors back, but unfortunately they could not apply the finishing touch.
Both Darren Prouse and Nic Pollard missed good chances with just the keeper to beat and then as so often happens, Newtown broke out to score an excellent goal five minutes from the end. To their credit, Argyle came back again and a minute from time, Dan Gibbs converted a penalty to make the final score 4-3 to the visitors.
This was a disappointing result for the reserves and the long layoff due to the weather showed up in this performance. New goalkeeper Lewis Challen from Saltash put in a solid performance between the posts.

OKEHAMPTON Argyle first team had a wasted journey in the South West Peninsula League on Saturday. Due to play away to the University of Exeter, both teams were changed and on the pitch when the match referee ruled the pitch unfit.
Charlie Bond, the secretary of Okehampton Argyle, said: 'There was no doubt that this was the correct decision as there were areas of the pitch where a boot sank a couple of inches into the mud and a ball failed to bounce, but it was disappointing for the team to have travelled and all the players had been keen to see action again, having not played since December 5.'
