YOUNGSTERS at Northlew and Ashbury Primary School battled it out in a competitive sports day last week.

Taking to the village playing field, pupils competed in a number of activities, including egg and spoon, sprinting, long distance races and throwing the javelin.

Children worked together to collect points for their teams, with the red team eventually being declared the winners.
