North Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team (NDSART) will be shaking a bucket outside Waitrose in Okehampton on Saturday.

The team will be outside the store between 9am and 6pm, collecting funds for their vital rescue work on the moor and chatting to people about their work.

All the group’s operating costs are met through donations, so they have been hit hard in the past two years as Covid has deprived them of opportunities to fundraise.

They are, though, feeling upbeat this week after five NDSART members underwent their casualty care (an advanced first aid course) exam at Derriford Hospital, passing with flying colours.
