I AM researching the names on the war memorial at Lydford and would love to hear from anyone who knows anything about them.
Perhaps you're a relative, or grew up with one of them – whatever information you have, however slight, would be really useful to me.
These are the names — First world war: Charles Berry, Mancel Clark, Frank Fry, Richard Hobbs, William Daw, Archibald Huggins, George Lake, George Metters, Richard Petherick, Richard Turner, Samuel Voysey, Edward Whitford, James Stephens.
Second world war: Leslie Bickle, Richard Gillett, Philip Herbert, Sylvia Bickle, Richard Herbert, Gerald Herbert, Alfred Stanbury, Peter Bowles.
Falklands: Nicholas Taylor. Iraq: Andrew Kelly.
I am hoping to bring the stories of these brave individuals to life, and in doing so create a picture of Lydford throughout the 20th century. As you can imagine, I have already been trawling past copies of the Times!

I would be so grateful for any help you could give me.
