GEORGE Street in Okehampton will be closed for several weeks while a new gas main is being fitted underneath the road.

The road will be closed from tomorrow (August 3) until September 22, however the roadwork company, Wales and West Utilities, has said delays were likely.

The diversion route is through Mill Road.
