DRESSING from head to foot in pink is usually every man's worst nightmare — but for Roy Ford from North Tawton, it was a way to raise as much money as possible for charity.
Roy, who runs Linfords Fashion Shop in the village with his wife Lin, was recently nominated to do something for Breast Cancer by his daughter Annette, who is a councillor for North Tawton.
But the decision to dress entirely in pink was Roy's idea as he wanted to raise £2,000 — a target which he exceeded, as when the Times went to press, the total had reached £2,350.
Lin said: 'Everyone has been so supportive.
'We had a competition throughout the day — for £1 you had to guess his name.
'We had 168 people have a go but no-one guessed it correctly — he was called Claudia.
'We also had a bucket collection which collected nearly £400.'
Roy said: 'This is all for Breast Cancer and I dressed up in everything pink — not just a hat! I wore a pink wig, pink ladies' boxers, a pink bra, top, skirt, black stockings with pink bows from Ann Summers, shoes spray- painted pink, pink eyelashes and pink nails — everything was pink!
'It has been incredible the amount of people who have supported me. I enjoyed doing it because everyone else enjoyed it — we are now thinking of next year!'
