A FUNDRAISER from Belstone is encouraging Okehampton residents to take part in a unique challenge near Exeter that will help to raise money for Help for Heroes.

The Rock Solid Race, taking place at Escot Park on March 16 2013, challenges people to take part in a five or ten-kilometre obstacle race, pushing teams and individuals to clock the fastest time over the challenging courses.

Alan Williams from Belstone is encouraging people from Okehampton and the surrounding area to take part.

He said: 'I would love to see as many people from Okehampton getting involved. We have got the Phoenix Gym heavily involved, and we have also members of Okehampton Hockey Club and the rugby club taking part, and possibly some members of the running club. So we will have a lot of people from Okehampton there, but we would love to see a few more.'
