RENDELLS report a successful dispersal and collective sale last Saturday week at Chagford Market.
The sale attracted hundreds of people creating a packed sale field. Buyers travelled from as near as Chagford to North Devon, Dorset and a number from Cornwall. The atmosphere was friendly and created an enjoyable day.
There were more than 300 lots on offer, and the sale was combined with the dispersal sale on behalf of Mr G Aplin, of Moretonhampstead. Some items of interest included creep feeders to £100, Round bale feeders to £95, sheep feeders to £110, bale spikes to £120, tractor bucket £230, mower £620 and haybob £450.
The collective sale attracted considerable interest and an additional 250 lots; including some of the following: trailers ranged from £190 for car trailers to £2,100 for a 24ft tandem axles bale trailer, Feed trailers to £350, McConnel saw bench £720 others to £600, Massey Ferguson 65 Tractor £3,000, Ferguson implements on offer included a subsoiler selling at £145 and finger bar mower £75.
A number of collectable lots forward included a Honda 1977 motorcycle selling at £85 and a number of stationary engines; Lister, Valliers, and BSA selling to £85. A number of sundries and workshop tools; socket sets ranged from £21 to £25.
The next sale at Chagford Market will be the March Fair store cattle sale on Thursday, March 3. The auctioneers are also planning another collective sale next autumn at Chagford Market.
