The Sampford Courtenay community gathered together for a coffee morning at the church rooms on Sunday (March 13) in an amazing display of solidarity with Ukraine.

A total of £1,600 was raised for the Ukrainian Red Cross Appeal at the event which also included a raffle.

Parish councillor Philip Collins said: ‘It just shows how much our small community cares and comes together when needed.’

The Red Cross is currently on the ground dealing with some of the now over two million refugees.
