A SURPRISE was in store for Rotarians in Okehampton recently, when their coffee morning was attended by a special visitor.

Santa and his little helper arrived to lend a helping hand, taking coffee around to customers and speaking to children, and helped the morning raise £600.

Okehampton Excelsior Silver Band were also in attendance, playing carols to help with the festive atmosphere.

Rotary vice-president Sarah Watts said: 'It was a great morning. The look on children's faces when they saw Santa was excellent and we also raised a good deal of money for local good causes.'
