Chagford 5
Elmore 0
THIS score-line could have been reached before half-time had Chagford's finishing been better and if Elmore's 'keeper, Scott Hosea not been in inspired form.
The 17-year-old made numerous blocks and saves to frustrate the hosts, keeping them down to a one goal advantage at the break.
Striker Steve Scott suffered the most seeing three good chances saved, with a stunning free-kick from Matt Mortimer drew a stunning tip-over and other chances came and went.
On 20 minutes Woof, Scott and Davis combined to set up the Chagford first goal, their right flank play causing all sorts of problems for Elmore, with Oscar Emanuel eventually found the net with his right foot shot going in off Hosea's body.
The goal prompted Elmore to make an early substitution and switch to a three man defence, allowing themselves to press forward more. The tactic seemed to pay dividends, Chagford lost their way in midfield for a time, with Cannon having a powerful free-kick well saved by Scarry in the home goal.
Elmore's stubborn-ness finally cracked when Chagford struck twice in a minute, on the hour. Centre-back Tim Williams fought through the midfield and sent in a superb cross for Steve Scott to out-jump Hosea and nod the ball home.
Soon after Davis crossed for Scott to finish in a remarkably similar way.
Throughout the match, the home side had been crossing the ball well but had been unable to convert.
Fifteen minutes later Steve Kinsey struck a deserved first goal for his new club, following good work by Davis and Miller. Ten minutes from the end, de Cruz's drive came back off the bar nicely for Scott to bundle the ball home and claim a hat-trick. The result lifts Chagford up to fifth place.
Chagford are looking for a keeper as in December first-teamer Saul Scarry will be out for three months due to an operation. Interested players should contact 07715066442.
