OKEHAMPTON Town Council will try to find a local web designer to re-design its website.

The council is to seek quotes for the cost of a re-design of the website, which will have an overhaul to make it more user-friendly and up to date.

At its latest policy and resources meeting, the council agreed to try and find a web designer in the Okehampton area to update the page.

Among the planned changes are a town diary page, the ability to download grant forms and other forms as pdf files, links to other authorities like West Devon Borough Council, and explanations on how the council works, and what it is responsible for.

As part of the update, council staff will be taught how to keep the site updated with relevant council agendas and news.
