THE Queen may be celebrating her Diamond Jubilee in 2012, but Okehampton Carnival Committee is still looking for its own carnival prince, princess and queen.

The committee has yet to receive any applications to fill the posts.

Committee members are looking for boys and girls between the ages of 5 and 11 on Carnival day, Saturday, October 20, to enter the contest and get the chance to wave a regal hand to the crowds.

Carnival queen entries are also required. Entrants must be 12 years of age or older on carnival day.

All entrants must provide their names, age, addresses and a contact telephone number. For entrants under the age of 16, parents must indicate consent by signing the entrant's entry slip.

The closing date for entries has been changed to Saturday June 30.

The committee is also appealing to local organisations and sports clubs to get involved in the carnival parade,
