FOUR hundred new houses — we read about this in our local newspaper and wish to add our voices to the objections to this planning application for 400 new houses.

We consider the infrastructure of Okehampton is already under pressure with lack of schools, health centres, parking, employment, transport etc and another 400 houses will completely overload the system to incapacity.

Additionally this is an historic market town, close to Dartmoor, National Trust areas and greenbelt so extra housing will cause irreversible damage to the aesthetic and cultural inheritance of the town and surroundings.
