MORE than 100 parishioners attended the recent confirmation service at St Boniface Church, Okehampton.
A strong choir supported a sung mass, conducted by Bishop Mark O’Toole, the Bishop of Plymouth.
Seven young people were welcomed into the packed church as they made the step in their adult life, building on the vows made by their godparents during baptism.
The confirmation service followed months of preparation classes conducted by Monica Soby, Patrick Morris and Father Darline.
Bishop Mark expressed thanks to the youngsters for their commitment and willingness to be confirmed. Bishop Mark also commented that the parish was lucky to have Fr Darline as parish priest, who has spent five years in the area.
