ALMOST 100 years after the war which inspired Michael Morpurgo's War Horse, Belstone Village Hall is to host a special talk on the filming of Steven Spielberg's adaptation of the book.

Local historian and Dartmoor expert Paul Rendell is to give an illustrated talk on the making of the 2011 blockbuster film, which was partly filmed on Dartmoor. Paul kept a close eye on the film set, and will reveal some secrets of the shoot – including where different scenes were filmed, and how Joey and Albert ploughed through a field of rocks at Ditsworthy Warren House.

The evening starts at 7.30pm on Saturday, February 1. There will be refreshments and donations will be accepted for village hall funds.
