A DEVON charity which provides support to families affected by domestic abuse will be joining a free advice and information road show on a tour of West Devon next month. West Devon Connect, co-ordinated by West Devon Borough Council, brings together a variety of organisations to offer face-to-face help with public and support services at friendly drop in events around the borough. For the first time, Splitz Support Services will be joining the road show at Belstone Village Hall between 10am and noon on Thursday, September 18. The charity offers one to one victim support, survivors' groups, support for children and perpetrator programmes. People visiting the road show at Belstone will also be able to find out about a scheme aimed at helping homeowners who need to make essential repairs or adaptations to their properties. Wessex Homes Improvement Loans is working with the borough council to offer subsidised finance to eligible residents. On Tuesday, September 2, the road show will be at Hatherleigh Market from 9.30am to noon where residents will be able to speak to a representative from Citizens' Advice Bureau and Devon Wheels 2 Work. Chagford Library will be destination for the road show on Friday, September 26 with Action on Hearing Loss, the UK's largest charity for deaf and hard of hearing people, joining the team to offer free advice and information. Every road show will be hosted by a council advisor who can answer all manner of queries about council services from benefits to recycling.
