PEOPLE of Okehampton are being asked to 'Squeeze the Day', as Wren Music bring a day of piano accordian activities to the town.
The event promises to teach everyone new tunes to play, new skills and the chance to meet like-minded people. Fairplace Church will host all the fun on Saturday, April 13.
Leading much of the day will be Paul Hutchinson, who teaches in London regularly and performs with an array of folk bands. Among those he plays with are Belshazzar's Feast and the catchily-named Playford Liberation Front, dedicated to popularising the music of John Playford.
Paul Wilson, music director of Wren Music, has played the accordian from the age of eleven, and has played in a huge variety of bands and developed a distinctive style.
During the daytime, both Pauls will host workshop sessions where all levels of experience are welcome. In the evening, they will be joined in concert by Wren's Marilyn Tucker and Jason Rice, one of the central figures of both the Dartmoor Pixie Band and Moor Music.
The majority of his repertoire is from the Devon folk tradition, and he now teaches regular at South Tawton's Church House.
The workshops are at 10am and 2.15pm and the concert starts at 7.30pm. concert tickets cost £9, £6 concessions. For workshop prices and more information on 'Squeeze the Day', visit http://www.wrenmusic.co.uk">www.wrenmusic.co.uk or call 01837 53754.
