WEEKS of friendly competition between four Okehampton pubs is to culminate in a fun family day for all this weekend.

The King's Arms, the Plymouth Inn, the White Hart, and the London Inn have been taking part in the St George's Challenge.

Teams from each pub have been competing in skittles, pool, darts, cribbage and a quiz throughout the month.

The challenge culminates in a tug of war competition at a family fun day in Simmons Park on Sunday April 28.

The day promises lots of free fun for everyone. There will be an inflatable assault course, sumo suits and jousting, as well as rides, a beer tent and a raffle.

The event runs in the park from 12pm to 5pm. All are welcome to attend.

The event has been organised by Lisa Wadling, the town's new promotion manager.
