FOR the second week running only the indoor matches in the Okehampton Ladies Netball League could be played as the outdoor courts remained frozen.
In the third division the young Starburst team took on the more experienced ladies of Toucans.
The youngsters played a good game with the score not truly reflecting the match.
After a slow start the youngsters gained more confidence and played with conviction however the experience and great play of Toucans could not be matched and Toucans got the ten points with a convincing win with the match finishing Toucans 39 Starburst 12.
In the first division Magpies had a hard match against newly promoted Hawks Tor. Magpies were without three regular players and took a while to settle down; however, Ali Shiell held Magpies together in the centre court working well with Rachel Orchard, Hawks were playing superbly and Magpies could not claw back the deficit despite a late rally in the last quarter.
Final score Hawks Tor 55 Magpies 26.
Junior League
All the matches have been played in the first half of the season. There has been some excellent netball played and many of the matches have finished with scores not really reflecting the game. The girls should all be congratulated on their good sportsmanship and attitude throughout the start of this new season.
