A SPECIAL fundraiser for Okehampton Argyle takes this place on Saturday with two entertaining games to watch.
Okehampton Argyle are staging two exhibition games at Simmons Park. The day begins at 12 noon when Argyle thirds take on an Okehampton Veterans XI containing many stars of the past.
This is followed at 3pm by a match between Okehampton Argyle first XI and a District All Stars XI selected by Stuart Cann.
The clubhouse will be open during and after the games and throughout the evening for refreshments.
For next season the first XI has been moved back to division one East of the Carlsberg South West Peninsula League.
Although the club said it has really enjoyed its spell in the Western Division and the hospitality of the clubs in that section, the move will considerably cut their travel costs and hopefully make it possible for more players to be able to travel to away games without affecting their evening work and family commitments.
At the recent Carlsberg South West Peninsula League presentation evening, Okehampton won the best programme award for division one West having won the East division award the previous season.
