OKEHAMPTON Acoustic Club celebrated the first night of its new autumn season last Saturday.

Featured guests included indie acoustic harmony band Mozura from Exeter, and Broken Chords. Club founders Phil Bird and Anna Georghiou, members of the band Troubadour's Garden also played a set.

Phil Bird said: 'There was a great audience for our talented performers, and a warm vibrant atmosphere.

'A special thank you goes to the musicians and supporters who ensure that live, original acoustic music has a home in Okehampton.

'We gave the club a rest in August as Troubadour's Garden were busy performing and running workshops at various festivals, including Croissant Nuef in Usk Wales, and Buddhafield Living arts gathering in Devon.

'Now we are back home and excited by the quality of musicians who are coming along to play.'

The club's first season ran from February to July, and featured 26 solo artists and bands, including local bands the Monkey Gland Blues Band, Moor Reason, Lucy and the Lost Boys.

The next date for the club is October 13, and the line up will include the ukelele and fiddle duo BearTown Zodiac, and Rosa Rebecka.
