THE Okehampton and District Lions Club's Christmas street collection raised a total of £1,753.80 for charity.

The collection took place outside Waitrose and Somerfield supermarkets in Okehampton, and the money raised will be used to support the club's local organisations and charities.

The Lions Club expressed thanks to all who contributed, to Somerfield and Waitrose for the use of their forecourts and to Donald's in Fore Street for their help.
