THE Ordnance Survey (OS) is appealing for outdoor enthusiasts and keen photographers to submit their best photos of Okehampton to the OS Photofit competition.
With just a few weeks to go until this stage of the competition closes on April 19, OS is keen to ensure that the popular map covers for OS Explorer 112 and 113 — which covers Okehampton —have winning images which capture the real beauty of the area.
Rob Andrews from OS said: 'OS wants photographs of Britain's stunning landscapes and amazing urban views.
'Unfortunately we have received a surprisingly low number of entries for these areas.
'There are still three weeks to get out with the camera or search through your exciting images to find an photo which could feature on the OS map cover.
'It could also be the perfect way to spend some leisure time over the Easter break.
'This is a "money can't buy opportunity" and a chance for your photo to feature on the shelves of high street retailers, local book shops, tourist information centres, in homes and, most importantly, in the pockets and rucksacks of budding explorers.'
Full details of the competition including uploading instructions and full terms and conditions can be found on the website at http://www.os.uk/photofit">www.os.uk/photofit
