I WOULD like to thank everyone — friends, relations and people I have not personally met that so generously gave sponsorship to my FORCE cancer charity skydive. Yes I did do the skydive on March 27. I must admit that I was very apprehensive of falling from the aeroplane as I thought it would be like a bungee jump — a straight fall — but due to the backward thrust of the aircraft and the wind factor, I glided to the left and did not notice the one minute drop so much. Then the canopy opened, so with a sudden jolt I went skywards, after which it was a lovely, gentle float around for five minutes. I actually walked on a beautiful, white, fluffy cloud (not many people have done that) before admiring the lovely Devon scenery right out to the coast, then had a gentle, safe landing on my bottom. I would like to thank my daughter Michaela (still having chemo treatment), also Dawn Pitts for putting my event on the internet — Virgin Giving, which raised £693, in helping me raise the huge amount of £3,466.01. It was a great experience and thank you all so very much. The odd one penny was good luck money for a safe jump. Nancy Cleary Bridestowe
