THIS year during the summer holidays, children can join in the Great Garden Adventure at RHS Garden Rosemoor.

Sponsored by Witan Developments, the adventure promises fantastic family activities every weekday throughout the holidays from July 27 to September 1.

The garden has compiled a list of ten things for youngsters to do before summer is out: build a den, create a shadow puppet, watch a falconry display, make a flower meadow, enjoy an outdoor drama show like 'The Adventures of Mr Toad', have a teddy bear's picnic, listen to storytelling out in the corner, try out African drumming, go on a mini beast hunt and attend arts and crafts workshops.

These are just some of the activities on offer at RHS Rosemoor this summer.

On Mondays, children can enjoy a games day. Tuesdays will offer make a flower meadow sessions and craft and colouring workshops. Wednesdays will focus on den building and bush craft, while Thursdays will focus on paper boxes and masks, and art and crafts. On Fridays, children can take part in the mini beast hunt.

Children can have free admission to the garden with one paying adult.

Other activities over the summer include a creepy crawlies day, a local produce show, a Burglar Bill puppet show by Armchair Puppet Theatre, and more.

Activities except outdoor theatre are free after normal garden admission, though some have limited spaces available.
