THE next mayoral breakfast will take place in the Charter Hall on Wednesday, July 16. The breakfasts are open to everyone, and give an ideal opportunity to network with others in the community. Guest speaker Alan Simons from Touchwood Design will talk about the rise and dominance of supermarkets in Okehampton, and their effects on high street shopping habits. A full English breakfast will be available at £7 per person. The event will start at 8am, and any profits will go to the mayor's charities, the Royal British Legion, Ocmundtune Creative Arts and Tear Fund Toilet Twinning. For those wishing to attend please pay by cash or cheque, payable to 'Okehampton Town Council – Mayor's Account', at the town council office by Friday, July 11.
