Hatherleigh Carnival committee is under starter's orders for its first fundraiser of the year this weekend.

The committee is holding a race night at Hatherleigh Community Centre on Saturday, June 23. Doors open at 7pm for the first race at 7.30pm. Races have been sponsored by local businesses, and horses sold to carnival supporters.

The committee are looking to attract as many people as possible for the tote betting on the night. Anyone who has a losing betting slip can enter them into a prize draw. There will also be a draw to become a 'horse owner', and a sponsors' race.

There will be a bar and free snacks.

All are welcome to attend and enjoy an evening of fun to support the carnival.
