NEWTON lost 10-8 to North Tawton at the beginning of the season, but were sitting top of the table. Tawton had to win to go top, and win they did.

Tawton dominated from the start with a try from the kick-off by Tara McGaide with good rucking and tackling from Jo McBain and Tasha Currie. Newton stayed on the back-foot.

Tries came from Hayley Hopkins, Jo McBain, Lorraine Cleverdon and Tawton came away top of the league.

The girls would like to wish Wiggy a speedy recovery after dislocating her knee in this game.
