A ROOM at the Plymouth Inn that lay dormant for most of the week has been transformed into a tea room. The pub's function room has had some TLC and has now been transformed into Granny Smith's Tea Room. The tea room serves over 20 different specialised teas as well as cream teas, cakes and sweet treats. The town mayor recently visited the pub to declare the tea room open. Dee Smith, who runs the pub with husband Jeff, said: 'The idea is to offer seniors a place to meet up, come and relax and get out of the house. 'The room was sat here doing nothing and it offers somewhere different for people to come. We have a full range of teas from delicate teas to very strong teas, herbal teas to decaffeinated teas, so it should cater for everybody.' The organisations which use the room, such as the Okehampton supporters of Exeter Leukaemia Fund, and Get Changed Theatre Company, will still be able to use the room.
