ON April 14, Mrs Val Dodsworth, ladies' captain of Okehampton Golf Club and her fellow members, put on a golf day to raise awareness and funds for two local support groups of people with Parkinsons.

Despite a grey start to the day, the sun broke through and a great day was had by all who attended.

On behalf of Tavistock Parkinsons Support Group I would like to congratulate Val and fellow members on such a successful day and to thank them for allowing us to promote the group and in anticipation of a promised donation towards the running costs of our support and exercise meetings.

Well done to all concerned and thank you for all you hard work.
