ON behalf of the Okment Rivers Improvement Group (ORIG), I would like to thank publicly Mr Colin Will for the invaluable assistance he so readily gave to ORIG last Saturday.
Several Members of ORIG were trying, unsuccessfully, to remove a large tree trunk which was lodged against the sewer pipe supporting piers at West Bridge. Seeing the difficulty we were having Mr Will offered to use his Land Rover to row the tree trunk onto the bank. Having done that he arranged for his father-in-law to bring a chain saw and a trailer in from some three miles away so that the tree trunk could be disposed of.
There is no doubt that without Mr Wills' assistance we would not have been able to remove the tree trunk, it was too heavy and the river running too fast to allow us to do it unaided.
