AN award winning publisher with offices in Okehampton has recorded and released a Christmas carol to raise funds for Children's Hospice South West.

The song, 'The 12 Days of Clickety Christmas', features a reworked version of the well-known carol, using several characters from the Clickety Books series. The series is designed to help develop children's speech and language skills.

The song was performed by Plymouth City Council's in-house choir, the Sound Council, and led by Simon Elvin.

The animated video can be enjoyed on the Clickety Books website, and there is a link to JustGiving to make a donation.

Richard Ayre, managing director of Clickety Books, said: 'At Clickety Books we are actively engaged with children, parents, schools and nurseries. we know the work done by the children's hospices is simply amazing.

'The new hospice by the sea at St Austell has been open a year now, and we hope people will help make sure it continues to provide outstanding support to families.'

Children's Hospice South West helps and supports children and their families who are living with life-shortening conditions. The hospices help children who need palliative care, emergency care, and planned respite stays to provide families and children with a much needed break.

Bernadette Chambers, corporate partnership fundraiser at CHSW's Little Harbour in Cornwall, said: 'We are delighted that Clickety Books has chosen CHSW as the beneficiaries of this lovely Christmas initiative.

'It is always heart-warming when we are supported by companies who have children at the heart of what they do. The song is a lot of fun and will bring many smiles this Christmas.

'Thank you to everyone involved and to those who make a donation.'

The money raised will be used to support CHSW's three hospices in Cornwall, Devon and Somerset. To view the video and donate to the hospice visit the website http://www.clicketybooks.co.uk/resources">www.clicketybooks.co.uk/resources
