THE August meeting of Okehampton U3A takes place today (Thursday) at 2.30pm at the Ockment Centre.

As in previous years the summer meeting will be devoted to general social chat, enjoying home-made cake and cups of tea, and learning what members and their different interest groups get up to throughout the year.

The only qualification for U3A membership is to be retired or semi-retired, and the group is always open to welcoming new members.

After today's meeting, the next meeting will be on September 26, which will be based around an Antiques Roadshow-style event.
