THREE people pictured in an article entitled 'Steel bench theft' which appeared in the Okehampton Times of May 24 are completely innocent of any wrongdoing, say Okehampton police.

It was alleged that the three had taken two stainless steel kitchen work benches from the Raj Poot Indian takeaway restaurant in Bridge Street, Okehampton on May 12. The CCTV?image was supplied to the Times by the police.

But PC Bob Bone, of Okehampton Police, told the Times last week: 'The three people pictured are completely innocent of any alleged wrongdoing.

'There was, as we have been told by all the parties concerned,

a complete misunderstanding with regards the "taking" of the tables. This misunderstanding has now been resolved and no criminal offences committed.'
