THE Okehampton Annual Town Assembly will take place in the Charter Hall on Monday, April 10 at 7pm.

This is a meeting of the town’s electors which is traditionally called by the mayor for the purpose of reviewing the past year’s work of the town council and to address any questions raised by residents about the council’s work.

The meeting’s agenda can be found on the council’s website: www.okehampton.gov. uk

Okehampton town clerk Paul Snell said: ‘Many will also be aware that the management contract of Parklands Leisure Centre was awarded to Fusion, and we are very pleased that Fusion’s sports and partnerships group manager, Francois Smit, will be attending the meeting to give a presentation on current developments and future plans for Parklands.

‘The committee chairmen or vice chairs will be attending the assembly and will be seated at marked tables in the Charter Hall, so that any member of the public can ask questions relevant to that committee if they have a particular issue they wish to raise.

‘Whilst the assembly traditionally welcomes all members of the Okehampton community, the right to speak or, if applicable, to vote at the meeting is restricted to those who are registered in the Okehampton town parish.’

Any written questions should be submitted to the town clerk via townclerk @okehampton.gov.uk

Written questions can be received no later than Tuesday, April 4.
