THE WINNERS of a writing competition organised by the Museum of Dartmoor Life in Okehampton have been selected.

Children were invited to write a story with a connection to time travel — either back to 1908 or 1948, or looking forward to 2012.

The competition was connected to the exhibition run in the museum over the summer, 'The People's Record.' The exhibition focused on the years the Olympic Games have previously been held in this country.

The best stories were written by 12-year-old Christopher Child from Okehampton, and Madeline Carter, of Northlew. Their winning stories are now on display at the museum.
