A WEEKEND of concerts, arts workshops, a craft fair and more has received support from Okehampton Town Council.

Ocmundtune Creative Arts is a group of individuals in town who are hoping to develop an arts centre in Okehampton.

The team has organised a weekend of arts activities in the Ockment Centre from May 23 to May 25.

Across the weekend there will be an art exhibition of works by nine artists. three nights of concerts with ten bands, a craft fair, and eight diverse art workshops including creative writing, acoustic guitar and more.

At the town assembly, Ocmundtune Creative arts secretary Hilary Sharp and treasurer David Cushing received a cheque for £500 from Okehampton mayor, Cllr the Rev Mike Davies, supporting the event.
