OKEHAMPTON and District Local History Society and the Okehampton branch of the Devonshire Association are combining to stage a display of Okehampton memorabilia.

The display will be at the town's Conservative Club on Wednesday, April 13 from 7pm; admission is free and a bar will be available.

Organiser Mike Wreford said: 'With the tremendous local interest in old Okehampton, the display will feature some 700 old postcards, approaching 1,000 photographs, Okehampton guide books going back over 100 years, old school magazines, old notices, albums, books and advertisement and much else that is  indicative of the time.'
