HOW nice to see the King's Arms in Okehampton, freshly painted with lovely hanging baskets outside.
Perhaps this will stimulate other property owners in the town centre to refurbish their buildings? The shop windows may have bright, enticing displays but the majority of the buildings are sadly in need of a coat of paint. I dread to think what impression this gives to visitors driving into the town. A drab and shabby town is not enticing people to stop and explore our little shops and cafes.
All down East Street and through the town, it looks dire. The chamber of trade do a lovely job with their hanging baskets in the summer but they would be so much more effective against fresh paint and gleaming windows.
So well done to the King's Arms for leading the way!
