THE residents of Winkleigh braved the wet weather on Sunday December 11 for the Christmas Market and switch on of the lights.
Shoppers and stall holders alike were warmed by mulled wine, mince pies and turkey rolls along with soup from the Oasis coffee shop.
Hollocome Choir and Winkleigh Primary School children sang carols around the Christmas tree, with the Winkleigh fair queen Charlie Sibley and fair king Sam Clark switching on the lights.
Father Christmas also rode through the square on a pony and trap handing out sweets and toys.
The Winkleigh fair committee expressed thanks to Glenn and Lotte Farrar, Pattie for allowing Santa to use her horse and trap, Range Moors, the Kings Arms and the Seven Stars.
