WHEN is Okehampton going to realise that shoppers are leaving the town in droves due to the problems with traffic congestion?

I really want to support our local traders but find it so frustrating.  On a recent Monday afternoon I hit a new record, it took 15 minutes to drive from the car park at Lidl to the mini-roundabout by Co-op.

This really is unacceptable, particularly if you have a bootful of frozen items and still have several miles to home when you can eventually get out of Okehampton town centre.  

It took nearly threequarters of an hour to drive four miles.  No wonder then that most of my neighbours have resorted to having their groceries delivered or drive to other towns for their weekly shop.
